Weaving Basics

The warp is referred to as the longest direction of the afghan. The fill is the shortest or smallest dimension of the afghan, whether or not the design is horizontal or vertical. To create a weave, there must be yarn from both the warp and fill. Keep in mind the warp colors in our two layer afghans are natural and black. The colors in the fill will be natural and one color of your choice. For example, your warp is natural and black and lets say you choose blue as your fill color. You will have pure natural, a light shade of blue(natural in the warp mixed with blue in the fill) and a dark blue (black in the warp mixed with blue in the fill). This is the basics for the weaving process.
